Featured Verse
"He who sows wind, shall reap the storm —
The throne of the unjust cannot stand long."
«آن که باد کارد، طوفان درود —
تختِ بیداد را پایداری نبود»
Shahnameh — Ferdowsi شاهنامه — فردوسی

Why This Project Matters

The Farsi language is being gradually transformed into Farsi-Tazi (فارسیِ تازی) — where authentic Farsi words are replaced with Arabic equivalents. We find it increasingly difficult to read Farsi publications without encountering Arabic and foreign words at every turn. This project preserves the original, pure Farsi of the great classical poets — and makes it accessible to the world through careful bilingual translation.

The Fall of Zahhak

From the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi — the legendary defeat of the tyrant Zahhak by the hero Fereydun. Toggle between English and Farsi to experience the bilingual translation.

I. Thus was the doom of Zahhak fulfilled by Fereydun, the legendary hero of Iran.
II. With his army at his side, Fereydun rose against the tyrant, crossed the roaring Arvand, and advanced upon Zahhak's stronghold.
III. With the aid of Kaveh the Blacksmith and faithful companions, he struck Zahhak down, bound him in cowhide, and bore him to the heights of Mount Damavand.
IV. There, within the heart of the mountain, Zahhak was chained and imprisoned, condemned to endure the reckoning of his deeds.
V. And so ended the thousand-year reign of cruelty and oppression.

Preserving Pure Farsi for Future Generations

The great poets of Iran wrote in a language of extraordinary beauty and precision — a Farsi largely free of Arabic loanwords, rooted in the ancient Persian tradition. Today, modern written Farsi has drifted far from this original.

شاعرانِ بزرگِ ایران به زبانی نوشتند که امروز کمتر خوانده می‌شود — فارسیِ اصیل، بی‌آلایش از واژه‌های تازی

These bilingual editions serve two purposes: making the great works accessible to English readers, and preserving the original Farsi text in forms that honour the poets' own language — not the Arabicised variants found in many modern publications.
